Pierre

Loïc Pierre founded the Mikrokosmos chamber choir in 1989 and has been its artistic director ever since. He is a versatile artist – choir conductor, stage director, scenographer, composer and visual artist. Always on the lookout for fresh ideas, he draws inspiration from influences including Sam Francis, Ariane Mnouchkine, Jackson Pollock, Andrei Tarkovsky, Bob Wilson, Alfred Hitchcock and Martin Scorsese.

Loïc breaks away from the traditional concert format, creating an innovative experience that puts a modern twist on the art form: choral theatre. His shows are a testament to this unique fusion: Tenebrae (2001), Ombres vives, une autre histoire du cinéma (2006), La Nuit Dévoilée (2013), Retour à la terre (2014), Jumala (2016), L’Origine du Monde (2019), Passion (2021), Lune (2022), L’homme qui marche (2023) and Saga des peuples sans armure (2025). These works are unique, modern and full of depth. They are expertly crafted by an artist who is innovative, generous with his audience, and a humble, sincere interpreter of the masters he honours.

Loïc is also the artistic director of the Festival de la Voix in Châteauroux.
