Tradition meets innovation

Celebrate women as they connect tradition with the present day. Join this atelier for treble voices to sing traditional songs reimagined by contemporary composers.

Tradition meets innovation

Explore traditional songs from France, Bulgaria, Macedonia and Croatia, all given a fresh twist by today’s composers. With drones, counter-melodies and rich dissonances, these pieces are sure to captivate singers and audiences alike.
Folk music has always been a treasure trove for choir singing. Composers like Francis Poulenc, Béla Bartók, Ralph Vaughan Williams and Paul Ladmirault drew from it in their time. And it still inspires composers to this day, connecting the past with the present. Through diverse languages, syncopated rhythms and compelling melodies, female voices will bring out the full power and nuance of these timeless tunes.
Let’s continue this journey, embracing these beautiful melodies and passing them on to the next generation!

Biography

Delcourt

Marion Delcourt is a vocalist, teacher and choir director who hasn’t exactly followed the traditional path as a musician. Despite being trained in both singing and teaching, she’s always felt like she didn't quite fit into just one box – something she now fully embraces. Marion has enjoyed some incredible experiences on stage, in the recording studio and in workshops. She has been a soloist, choir singer, choir director and teacher across both classical (old and new) and rhythmic music. She loves a challenge and is all about discovering new things, especially when it means mixing different art forms and styles.
