Louis Gal started singing as a child with the Saint-Christophe-de-Javel parish choir in Paris. He later joined the Maîtrise children’s choir of Radio France, where he sang under the direction of Toni Ramon and Sofi Jeannin. While at the Maîtrise, he also received comprehensive training in singing, piano and music theory.
After studying science at the École Normale Supérieure in Lyon, he shifted his focus to choral conducting at the Lyon Conservatory, learning from Nicole Corti and Lionel Sow. He also spent a semester in Norway honing his skills with Grete Pedersen.
Since 2021, Louis has been the director of the Parisian chamber choir OTrente. He regularly works as an assistant conductor for the Maîtrise children’s choir of Radio France and the vocal ensemble Aedes. This season, he directed the Lille opera choir in three productions: Don Giovanni, Falstaff and Tristan und Isolde).
