Nordic Stage | Youth 16 to 30 years old

Immerse yourself in the rich musical traditions of the Nordic countries with the “Nordic Stage” workshop, specifically designed for singers aged 16 to 30. This workshop explores the vibrant folk music of Scandinavia, reimagined through a modern lens. You’ll delve into the traditional sounds of the Scandinavian and Baltic countries, discovering how these ancient melodies can be fused with contemporary pop and classical elements to create a unique and dynamic vocal performance.
Led by Astrid Vang-Pedersen, you will focus on integrating physical presence into your singing, incorporating choreography, body percussion, and even dance into your performance. Astrid’s distinct approach blends Nordic folk music with world music, pop, and classical genres, resulting in arrangements that not only honor traditional Nordic sounds but also push the boundaries of vocal expression.
The workshop emphasizes a theatrical and communicative approach to choral performance, encouraging participants to connect deeply with both the music and their own bodies. You’ll have the opportunity to explore circle songs, folk tunes with a modern twist, and well-known sounds from popular music, all within a creative and energetic environment.
“Nordic Stage” offers a unique opportunity to blend tradition with innovation, enhancing your vocal and performance skills while connecting with other passionate young singers. Join us for an unforgettable journey that celebrates the heritage of Nordic music while bringing it to life in a contemporary context.
