Biography

Frédéric Pineau

A passionate choral conductor and teacher, Frédéric Pineau enjoys exploring the choral repertoire in all its richness, while striving to bring it to a wide range of audiences. He has been musical and artistic director of the Chœur de Chambre de Rouen since 2012, and in 2024 created the Chœur de Jeunes de Rouen associated with the latter. He has also directed the Chœur d'Oratorio de Paris since 2019, and the COSU Choir (Sorbonne University Choir & Orchestra) since 2020. He also directs the Yellow Socks Choir, a variable-geometry choir specializing in film music and ciné-concerts. He was musical director of the symphonic and philharmonic choirs of the COGE (Chœurs et Orchestres des Grandes Ecoles) from 2012 to 2018 and choral singing teacher at the CRR de Rueil-Malmaison from 2013 to 2022. He currently directs the Maîtrise Guillaume le Conquérant in Saint-Saëns, Normandy, which is linked to a vast cultural education project in rural areas, as well as the orchestra "L'Ecole Harmonique - DEMOS" linked to the ensemble Le Poème Harmonique. He is also involved in numerous socio-cultural projects at the Philharmonie de Paris, including the recent EVE project.
