Venture into world music! “Light mass” by the Lithuanian composer Vytautas Miškinis blends classical choral composition with the rhythmic composition of traditional music and jazz. This colourful work displays a creative rhythmic dialogue between a choir, a classical piano and a jazz trio. Energy-filled enjoyment on the horizon!
Leslie Peeters is a choir director, teacher of choral directing, a singer and a pianist. A graduate of the national conservatory of music in Lyon, she studied choir directing under Bernard Tétu and Nicole Corti; she also studied at the conservatory in Birmingham under Paul Spicer and Jeffrey Skidmore. Peeters has sung in professional ensembles (Chœur Britten, Calliope, and Gondwana), as well as with the Jazz’elles ensemble. She is currently teaching at the national music school in Villeurbanne where she directs young adult and children’s choirs. Leslie Peeters is a regular at international festivals including Choralies and Europa Cantat where she directs a variety of workshops.
