A unique chance to experience the diversity and beauty of slovenian choral music, from folk songs to modern compositions. Singing plays an important role in Slovenia, with over 8% of the population singing in choirs, keeping an exciting repertoire alive. Helena will take you on a journey through the language and the music of her country with a mix of easy songs and some more challenging compositions. Come and enjoy the colors of Slovenia!
Helena Fojkar Zupančič, works as a conductor and music pedagogue in Ljubljana and Litja in Slovenia. With the Saint Nicholas Choir Litja and the Saint Stanislav Girls Choir she has received numerous awards at national and international competitions. She is one of the most celebrated Slovene choir conductors and is an esteemed lecturer at seminars for school choir conductors and church musicians. She devotes special attention to vocal techniques, clear diction and the interlacement of lyrics and music.
