Ukraine sings

Unlock the vibrant and diverse world of Ukrainian choral music, from ancient baroque to lively folk traditions.

Ukraine sings

Immerse yourself in Ukrainian culture through a unique choral workshop. This workshop offers an exceptional opportunity to explore a rich and often overlooked repertoire, where sacred and secular music intertwine in a fascinating stylistic diversity. Delve into the works of Mykola Dyletsky, one of the pioneers of Ukrainian choral polyphony, and Roman Hurko, who draws inspiration from Orthodox liturgical chants and folklore.

An exploration of vibrant folk songs will reveal the richness of Ukrainian musical traditions while also highlighting contemporary composers such as Stanislav Liudkevych, who helped shape a national style of Ukrainian classical music, and Hanna Havrylets, whose compositions blend traditional motifs with a renewed musical vision.

Beyond singing, participants will be invited to experiment with rhythms, play percussion, and even incorporate traditional Ukrainian dance movements, creating a harmonious musical and visual experience.

Don’t miss this opportunity to discover and celebrate Ukrainian music and culture in a choral workshop that promises to be both enriching and unforgettable!
