Registration

Where shall I go when I arrive at the festival?

To take part in the festival (atelier- concert- camping-restaurant) you must have your badge.

  • Arrival on July 30: You can pick up your badge and other registration information from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at theespace culturel (Pl. François Cévert, Vaison-la-Romaine) on Wednesday, July 30, 2025.
  • Arrival from July 31: meet at the “Village des Choralies”.

Your meeting place will be indicated in your confirmation and information letter.

Is it possible to pay for the Choralies with vacation vouchers?

Yes, it is possible to pay for the Choralies with french vacation vouchers (“Chèques vancaces”). However, membership fees of the association cannot be paid by this method.

When do I have to pay the balance of my registration?

The balance must be paid by June 1, 2025. A reminder will be sent to you in mid-May.

You can settle this balance by logging on to your personal intranet space https://intranet.choralies.org/Specialisation/Acj/Default.aspx or by :

  • cheque from a french bank (payable to À Coeur Joie 24 av Joannes Masset CS 51001 69580 cedex 09)
  • French “chèques vacances” (excluding membership)
  • bank transfer

Can I find out the location of my atelier before I register?

Atelier rooms are allocated definitively around April, to take account of the ateliers’ attendance. It is therefore generally not possible to know in advance.

Can I register as an individual or as a group?

Registration is on an individual basis, whether or not you sing in a choir.

That said, if you are part of a choir, your choir can request a performance during the afternoon concerts.

Finally, youth choirs can register as a group and benefit from special rates.

Do I have to be a member of À Cœur Joie to take part in the Choralies?

Les Choralies is a non-profit, non-commercial festival. In compliance with the French tax authorities, participation in the workshops is reserved for members of the À Cœur Joie association.

The following are exceptionally exempt from this membership requirement, upon presentation of documents attesting to their situation:

  • direct members of network associations À Cœur Joie International
  • members of associations belonging to the European Choral Association – Europa Cantat (ECA-EC)

as well as

  • Choralists who register for the atelier for a maximum of two consecutive days.
  • participants (concert package, handicapped persons’ escorts, volunteers, spectators) who do not attend an atelier

Can you be a volunteer and take part in an atelier at the same time?

Yes, it is possible to take part in a atelier and to volunteer the rest of the day.

Nevertheless, priority will be given to volunteer applicants without an atelier, then to volunteers registered for 1 to 5 days.

You must be available to volunteer for the entire duration of the Choralies (-1 and +1 day, i.e. from the morning of July 29 to August 8, 2025).

Restaurant and accommodation

Can I buy a catering package on site?

No. The catering package is only available when you register. You can buy meal tickets on site, but this is less economical.

Can I come and stay at the festival in my camper van?

Yes, it’s possible to park your camper van at the Choralies campsite, where special parking spaces have been set aside for this purpose, giving you access to the campsite’s showers and toilets.

It will not be possible to move your camper van during the festival.

Places are limited.

What kind of accommodation does the Choralies organization offer?

You can findall our accommodation offers here in the “Accommodation and catering offers” section.

You can :

  • Reserve places in collective tents
  • Reserve a pitch for your personal tent
  • Reserve a pitch for your motorhome.

Advantages of these options

  • Community spirit Staying at a campground is a great way to meet other participants and enjoy an enriching community experience.
  • Low cost : These options are generally inexpensive, which means you can keep expenses to a minimum.
  • Proximity to the festival Lodging on site means being close to festival events and activities, making travel and organization easier.

If you would like to find your own accommodation, here are a few suggestions to help you in your search:

  1. Hotels and Bed & Breakfast :
    • There are several hotels and B&Bs in and around Vaison-la-Romaine. Think about consulting sites like Booking.com, Airbnb, or contact the Vaison-la-Romaine tourist office to find available options.
  2. Vacation rentals :
    • Many Vaison-la-Romaine residents rent out their houses or apartments during the festival. You can find these ads on sites such as Le Bon Coin, Abritel and Airbnb.
  3. Campsites :
    • If you’re open to this option, there are also campsites in the area offering pitches for tents, caravans or even bungalows.
  4. University halls of residence or boarding schools :
    • Sometimes, university residences or local boarding schools offer rooms for rent during the summer. It may be worth contacting these establishments directly to check availability.
  5. Communities and Local Networks :
    • Don’t hesitate to post your request on local Facebook groups or discussion forums. Residents may have suggestions or even offers of accommodation.

Is it easy to park in Vaison la Romaine?

Vaison-la-Romaine is a very touristy destination, so it’s a good idea to use “greener” means of transport once attending the festival.

Ateliers and concerts

Do all the ateliers end with a final concert?

No, only the 5 and 8-morning ateliers (codes C and L) end with a final concert.

Are there any ateliers for conductors?

In fact, there is a special atelier for choral conductors: the Study tour.

Alternatively, if you’re looking for repertoire, take a look at the 1 Jour 1 Thème atelier. If you’d like to experience the work of a particular conductor, you can sign up for any atelier as a singer!

When will the afternoon concert program be released?

The schedule for the afternoon concerts will be announced around May 2025.

Tickets will be available online in late spring.

What time do the atelier take place?

Workshops take place every morning (depending on your registration period) from 8.45 a.m. to 12.15 p.m.

Can I attend the Choralies without taking part in an atelier?

You can do this by taking the “Concert Package”, which gives you access to concerts, meals and accommodation over 8 days, and makes you a real chorister without a workshop.

This rate is only available for the full duration of the Choralies.

If you don’t attend the full Choralies, you can’t register in advance or take advantage of the camping option, but you can :

  • purchase concert tickets when the box office opens
  • buy catering tickets on site

When I take part in an atelier, is there any preparatory work for which I receive scores and audio files in advance?

Depending on your choice of atelier, the level and type of preparation will differ. Please see workshop details for details.

Wherever possible, we ask atelier leaders to provide sound files.
